Morgan Oakes, Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Morgan's Bio

Morgan Oakes, MA, LMHC is a compassionate, direct therapist who takes an active, collaborative approach to helping clients create real, sustainable change. She is licensed to provide therapy in Washington, Iowa, and Delaware, and she specializes in supporting teens and adults navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, ADHD, phobias, grief, autism, and other concerns that can feel relentless.

Morgan’s style is engaged and practical. Therapy with her is an active process: you’ll speak honestly about what’s happening, get curious about patterns beneath the surface, and work together to build momentum with clear, actionable steps.

She draws from evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused CBT (TF-CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness-based interventions. Morgan tailors treatment to each individual with a trauma-informed, client-centered focus.

Morgan has more than five years of clinical experience across telehealth, outpatient, community, school-based, and residential settings. She is also a Washington State Approved Supervisor and provides clinical supervision and mentorship to developing clinicians. Shao Hsien "Zoey" Chu, Certified Counselor

Zoey Chu, MS, is a Certified Counselor at Collision Counseling who is passionate about helping clients heal from trauma, rebuild emotional safety, and reconnect with their inner strengths. Her approach is warm, steady, and collaborative, rooted in deep cultural sensitivity and an understanding that healing unfolds differently for every person.

Zoey’s clinical work draws from evidence-based approaches, including CBT, EMDR-informed strategies, and mindfulness-based regulation skills to support clients navigating anxiety, stress responses, and post-accident recovery. She helps clients understand their nervous system, restore a sense of safety, and develop coping skills that feel sustainable and empowering. Zoey strives to create a therapeutic space where clients feel seen, supported, and grounded as they move toward greater regulation and resilience.

As a bilingual clinician (English and Mandarin) with lived experience as an immigrant from Taiwan, Zoey is deeply committed to culturally responsive care. She brings a nuanced understanding of identity, transition, and belonging, and is honored to support clients from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.

Alongside her clinical practice, Zoey is actively involved in research at the University of Washington that explores how people heal from pain and trauma. Her work includes NIH-funded studies on music, mindfulness-based approaches, CBT, and hypnotic analgesia for pain and emotional regulation. She also contributes to research on mental health service utilization, including a statewide SCI firearm injury study examining how individuals access care and recover psychologically after traumatic injuries. This research background enriches Zoey’s therapeutic perspective and allows her to weave evidence-based understanding gently and effectively into her clinical work.

Zoey earned her M.S. in Research Psychology from Seattle Pacific University and brings a strong foundation in health psychology, behavioral science, and trauma recovery to her practice. She is dedicated to helping clients feel understood, supported, and empowered as they move toward greater emotional clarity, resilience, and wellbeing.

Jeremiah Styles, Office Administrator

Jeremiah's Bio

After spending 10 years working as a personal injury attorney, Jeremiah noticed how difficult it was for his clients, the victims of car crashes, to find treatment for their PTSD, driving anxiety, and post-injury depression. So, he found some very talented mental health counselors and collaborated to start a clinic focused on personal injury conditions and tort-related injuries. He is currently enrolled in his Masters program for mental health counseling and performs office administration tasks like responding to records requests and supporting the clinicians.

Cooperation with Personal Injury Attorneys

Collision Counseling intends to be a resource for both injured clients and their attorneys. Unlike mainstream mental health clinics that focus on health insurance billing, we focus on auto insurance billing and try our best to make sure care is accessible to people who have been in car crashes.

Auto Insurance Claims

There is a lot of misinformation around auto insurance. Many people hesistate to use the benefits they have been paying for for years for fear that it will somehow negatively effect them. It's our mission to help connect claimants to resources to navigate the civil justice system and claims so they can actually recieve the benefits they are owed. We work with their legal counsel to ensure their conditions and symptoms are properly documented for insurance company review so they can be fairly compensated and recieve the money they deserve for their pain and suffering.

GLP-1 Support After Injury: Screening Referral to Physician

Your Path to Healing: Whole Picture

After an injury, it’s common for your body—and your weight—to change. Pain, reduced mobility, sleep disruption, medications, and stress can all make weight gain feel frustrating and out of your control.

If you’ve noticed weight changes after a collision or injury, we can help you explore safe options. Collision Counseling does not prescribe weight-loss medications—but we can screen, educate, and connect you with a trusted, physician-supervised medical weight clinic if appropriate.

What are GLP-1 medications?

GLP-1 medications (often called “GLP-1s”) are prescription medicines that can support weight loss and metabolic health by helping with appetite regulation and slowing stomach emptying, which may reduce hunger and help you feel full sooner.

You may have heard of medications like semaglutide (brand examples include Wegovy/Ozempic) and tirzepatide (brand examples include Zepbound/Mounjaro). These medications are not right for everyone, and they require medical evaluation, dosing, and monitoring by a licensed prescriber.

Our physician partner

For clients who want medical evaluation for weight and metabolic concerns, we can connect you with Dr. Crystal Broussard, MD, who is:

Board-certified (Family Medicine / Internal Medicine listed across partner clinic profiles)

Experienced in physician-supervised weight management and long-term lifestyle-based care
Affiliated with clinics offering medical weight management services

Who might be a candidate for a GLP-1 evaluation?

A medical clinic may consider GLP-1s for adults with obesity or overweight plus certain weight-related health conditions. The right option depends on your health history, current medications, symptoms, and labs.

A referral conversation might make sense if you:

  • have a first session with our counselors and explain you
  • gained significant weight after injury due to reduced activity
  • feel stuck despite reasonable efforts
  • have a history of insulin resistance, prediabetes, or metabolic concerns
  • want a medically supervised plan (not a “quick fix”)
